Kohli scored 100 runs in 63 balls, an innings which included 12 fours and 4 sixes. The 34-year-old shut down his critics who doubted his T20 game as the knock came at a strike rate of 158.73. He and opening partner Faf du Plessis put on 172 runs for the first wicket, which is also the highest opening stand in IPL 2023.

Mohammad Amir praised Kohli
As soon as Kohli completed his century, praises started pouring in from all over the world including Pakistan. Mohammad Amir, one of Pakistan’s finest fast bowlers, called Kohli the ‘King’ while emphasizing on the knock. He tweeted: ‘What an innings by the one and only real king @imVkohli. Accepting praise.’

Kohli returns in Orange Cap race
The IPL century vs SRH has helped Kohli get back in the Orange Cap competition. How now has 538 runs in 13 matches with a ton and six fifties respectively. He averages 44.83 in IPL 2023 and is playing at a strike rate of 135.85. On Thursday evening he played with frills. With Faf set out to chase down the target of 187, he looked a man on a mission.
Anushka in fear of her husband
Anushka Sharma used the ‘bomb’ emoji to describe her husband Virat and their knock vs Hyderabad. After the match, cameras caught Kohli talking to someone on the phone via video call. Fans guessed from Kohli’s facial expressions that it was Anushka on the call.
RCB need win in last match vs GT
RCB had registered an eight-wicket win over SRH but they will need to beat the table-toppers in the last group game versus Gujarat Titans on Sunday. The good thing is that after being on the road for a long time, they will be back home in Bengaluru to play Titans. A win over GT will take them to 16 points, boosting their chances of qualifying for the Indian Premier League playoffs.
