SIgnRequest features a free plan and two subscription levels.
Free users can work with up to ten documents a month. You’ll be able to log in from any device, get an audit trail to track your files, and get support for 17 languages. This may be good enough for most occasional needs, but if you need more, it’s off to the paid plans we go.
The first membership level is Professional, which removes any limits on the number of documents you can work with. It’s designed with small teams of up to five members in mind, offering additional features such as building up to 5 templates, reminders, and custom branding (including the ability to create custom landing pages). You can also schedule document signing orders, receive notification on the status of your files, add attachments, Loose and Zapier integration, and SMS verification for a fee. All of this will cost you $9 per user, per month.
The second level is the business plan, which is aimed more at larger companies. With that in mind, it removes the limit on the members of your team. You’ll also be able to create an unlimited number of templates, and additional features include a bulk send option (for an additional fee), premium integration with services like M-Files, Topdesk, and Formdesk, and other customized options. All this for $15 per user, per month.
If you want to explore SignRequest, they offer a free 14-day trial of any plan. You can login using any one of your Google, Facebook, Microsoft, to take advantage of this. dropboxLinkedIn, or sales force Accounts. Alternatively, just give SignRequest your email address and create a new password for the opportunity.
You’ll need to hand over your credit card details, so don’t forget to cancel your trial if you decide the service isn’t for you. To do this, go to your Billing section, change your chosen subscription to Free, and click Subscribe. It’s not as intuitive as it could be, but it gets the job done.
Sign Request: Interface
- Very simple and clean interface, making it easy to see what needs to be done, with a clear video tutorial available in case you get lost
Once logged in, the interface seemed extremely simple – in fact it reminded us a lot of WeTransfer in its simplicity: a large rectangle with curved edges on the left side that houses a button that takes you to the top with a list of contacts. We found the service to be incredibly simple to use. Start by adding a document, then specify the number of contacts you need to fill it. You’ll notice that a different little colored circle appears to the left of each email address – these colors will match the colored fields you add. file, making it easy to see at a glance who is responsible for filling out which part of the document.
An Edit button to the right of each address allows you to change various settings, such as specifying the signing order, the password to protect the file, and selecting the specific type of authorization required. This includes ‘requires signature’, ‘requires approval’, and ‘will be informed only’. Overall, we thought the whole process was so clear and simple that it would be hard to get lost in it.
Sign Request: Equipment

- A handful of tools provide you with the basics with simplicity and ease of use
With such a sparse interface, you’d be forgiven for wondering where all the tools you need for document creation are hidden. The process is beautiful in its simplicity, although it will take you a long time to figure out how to do it if you don’t know: just click anywhere on the document.
This activates a large popup menu with four options: You can add a signature, a text box, a checkbox, or a date. Each time you add an item you will find that there are very few variable parameters available, but even then, very few are needed. Most important is to make sure that you have allocated the field to the right person.
Everything else is largely optional. There are also item-specific parameters, for example, such as offering a multiple-line field for a text box, or limiting the date to the time a document was signed.
Once a field is added, you can reposition and resize it so that it fits perfectly.
You’ll find some additional parameters in the Settings section, such as adding an email subject, setting a reminder, adding an attachment to the file, or turning it into a template, if you think you’ll need to use the same doc on a regular basis.
Sign Request: Form

- Follow the blue arrows to make sure you have filled in all the fields that you are required to fill out. it’s hard to get lost in the process
When it comes time for you or the people you sent the file to fill it out, SignRequest gently guides you through the process: a blue arrow indicates the section you need to type in. Once it’s done, it sends you on to the next one. The process is repeated until you get the final look.
You can of course edit your information before that, and if the font is too large for your liking, resizing the fields is just a click and drag away.

If you’re used to similar online signature services, you’ll feel right at home when it comes to adding your signature: As always, you’re presented with three options: You can choose from one of the eight cursive fonts available or Draw with your trackpad or mouse – we found SignRequest to be one of the better experiences when it came to this method. You can also upload the image of your signature. Recipients are not required to have an account with SignRequest in order to fill out their portion of the document.
It really is as simple as that. There is no other option available to you, like changing the font or style. Just type, resize if necessary, sign, finalize and you’re done.
Sign Request: Audit

- Dashboard is where you can check your files, templates and other information related to your account
The main dashboard of the service is where you can view all the documents you have sent, and check their progress. This is also where you can view your templates, your signature, billing information, your team details, and the users on your account.
Despite its simplicity, SignRequest covers the essentials when it comes to filling out, signing a form, and tracking its progress. Some other services provide more features, options, variable parameters, etc. But if all you need is a clear, simple and elegant way to get the job done, then SignRequest is definitely worth a look.
