As stated in NEP (National Education Policy) 2020, NCET to be conducted for admission to Integrated Teacher Education Programs (ITEP) like BA-B.Ed/B.Sc-B.Ed/B.Com-B Fixed. Ed course.
The process of online submission of application form will be open from 26 June to 19 July 2023 (up to 11:30 PM). The last date for successful transaction of fee through Credit/Debit Card/Net-Banking/UPI is 19 July 2023 (up to 11:50 PM). Candidates can make corrections in their details from July 20 to July 21, 2023 (up to 11:50 PM).
Inspired by NEP 2020, NCET 2023 will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
Each paper will be divided into 4 sections: Section 1 is the Language Section, Section 2 is the Domain-Specific Subject Section, Section 3 is the General Test Section, and Section 4 is the Teaching Aptitude Section.
For Section 1, candidates have to choose 2 languages as Language 1 and Language 2 from the list of 33 languages. Apart from the 13 languages listed earlier as the medium of examination, candidates can choose from 20 other languages such as Arabic, Bodo, Chinese, Dogri, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Manipuri, Nepali, Persian, etc. , Russian, Santhali, Sindhi, Spanish, Tibetan and Sanskrit.
There will be 20 questions in each language, there will be a total of 40 questions in that section.
Stream 2 will have a choice of 26 domain-specific subjects, namely, Accountancy/Bookkeeping, Agriculture, Anthropology, Biology/Biological Studies/Biotechnology/Biochemistry, Business Studies, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Computer Science/Informatics Practices, Economics/Business Economics, Engineering Graphics, Entrepreneurship, Fine Arts/Visual Arts (Sculpture/Painting)/Commercial Arts, Geography/Geology, History, Home Science, Knowledge Traditions-Practices India, Legal Studies, Mass Media/ Mass Communication, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Performing Arts, Physical Education/National Cadet Corps (NCC)/Yoga, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sanskrit and Sociology.
Candidates will have to choose 3 domain-specific subjects from this list, and each subject will have 25 questions, totaling 75 questions.
Section 3, or the General Test section, will have 25 questions, and Section 4, or the Teaching Aptitude section, will have 20 questions. Hence, there will be a total of 160 questions in the paper.
The examination will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) consisting of objective type questions in Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format.
