The flamboyant shark in the inaugural Shark Tank India Season 1, Ashneer Grover, returns for the never-ending sequel to the popular commercial reality. Even when his popularity was at its peak and Ashneer became an overnight sensation, his ouster from BharatPe and his subsequent online pranks signaled his ouster from the show anyway. Although somehow the fans were eagerly waiting for the former shark in the show. That ultimately never happened. While Ghazal parted ways amicably with the show, Ashneer’s fling with Shark Tank India meant heartbreak for her. Blaming the show makers (Sony) for something he will never admit. The founder of crisis-hit BharatPe mocked the makers for not having enough ‘aukaat’ to hire him.
Even after season two aired, there was widespread skepticism over the success of season two of Shark Tank India, including former CarDekho partner and debutant Amit Jain. Contrary to public perception, the show was a resounding success, although not on the scale of season one. But it was not in vain without Ashneer Grover spitting catchphrases at the helm that have since become meme fodder. Season two ended with no shows from Ashneer which continued to disrupt the program. Will he appear in season three? Here’s what the former shark said at an event held at Haldia Institute of Technology.
Criticizing Sony for not casting him in season two, Ashneer Grover said, ‘I am very clear, I will not give’. He says ‘Unhoni TRP gira di’. He claims that Sony acknowledged that Season One was a resounding success because of Ashneer. However, he taunts them for not taking him on in successful seasons. Ashneer explains ‘game theory’ behind the show’s alleged downfall. He says, ‘Kya cheez ho sakti…’ Either the show goes on or it falls flat. If it had worked, they would have cast me in season three, quipped Ashneer. No! Now that S2 sucks, will you (Sony) employ me in S3? Ashneer says that the show fails in both the cases. I’m done with the show, comment ace entrepreneur.
