Ranveer Singh may replace Shahrukh Khan in Don 3

According to a recent confirmation by producer Ritesh Sidhwani, the third installment of Shah Rukh Khan’s action thriller Don is now in the works. Although the script of the film is still being worked out by producer and director Farhan Akhtar, it is rumored that Shah Rukh Khan will not be seen in Don 3.

According to a recent report in a leading news agency, Shah Rukh Khan’s role of Don was to be bid for, and Ranveer Singh and a few other actors were competing for it. As per a source speaking to a news outlet, Ranveer will play the title role in Don 3.

After Shah Rukh’s exit, the makers of Don 3 sought an ideal replacement who could carry forward the legacy of Don and do justice to him. Ranveer has always been a favorite of Excel Entertainment and has been in several of their blockbuster films, including Dil Dhadakne Do and Gully Boy.

Ranveer, who has already shot for the promotional video, will reportedly feature in the announcement of Don 3. According to the source, Ranveer will take over as the new don and Shah Rukh Khan has also been told about it.

The first Don was released in 2006, while the second installment was released in 2011 with Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas reprising their roles. Both the films were directed by Farhan Akhtar.
