Srinagar: With the weather improving, the holy pilgrimage of Amarnath Yatra has fully resumed through both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes in the Kashmir Valley after remaining suspended for the last three days. Nearly 16,000 pilgrims were allowed to move towards the Amarnath cave shrine from the Baltal base camp on Monday after a three-day halt due to bad weather, while it was resumed yesterday from the Pahalgam axis, an official said.
Around 16,000 pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave of Amarnath this morning, taking the total number of pilgrims who have visited since the start of the 62-day Amarnath Yatra on July 1, to over one lakh.
Kashmir’s Divisional Commissioner Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said, “We are breaking all records of development and this time in 7 days we have crossed the figure of one lakh pilgrims.” All this is the gift of Baba Amarnath.
