Most of the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams are owned by some of the richest businessmen in the world. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is also no different as it was brought back from Deccan Chronicle in 2012 by the Rs 33,000 crore turnover Sun Group. In the same year the name of the team was also changed from Deccan Chargers to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The face of SRH over the years has been their CEO and co-owner Kavya Maran. She is the daughter of Sun Group owner Kalanithi Maran and has been a regular in most of the IPL matches over the years. Kavya Maran is the real ‘mystery girl’ of IPL when fans started spotting her in the stands cheering for SRH.
Kavya Maran these days also regularly plays an active role in planning the strategy of the season along with her coaches and support staff in the IPL auctions. He was appointed as the CEO of the SRH team in 2018.
