Mumbai: The makers of ’72 Hurain’, which won its director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan the National Award for Best Direction in 2019, strongly disagree with the Central Board of Film Certification’s (CBFC) decision to reject the film’s trailer. ,
Terming the decision as regressive, the film’s co-producer Ashok Pandit said, “We are extremely hurt and disturbed by the CBFC’s unwarranted decision to reject the trailer without any reason. This action is a major concern about creativity, freedom and produces.” realistic filmmaking. We will not take it lightly and will also approach the High Court if needed.”
“We would also request the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to intervene and question the authority of the CBFC for rejecting the trailer,” he added.
Two-time National Award winner Chauhan, who looked unhappy with the CBFC’s decision, said: “The film has won the National Award and has already received the censor certificate. The trailer has the essence of the same film.”
He added, “So on what basis has CBFC rejected the trailer? We would request everyone to watch the film and then come to a conclusion. The film only states facts and certainly does not target any religion.” or hurt religious sentiments.”
Producer Gulab Singh Tanwar said that the grounds of rejection appear to be baseless.
Tanwar said, “Whatever CBFC did is not right.” Rejected for reasons only they know and understand. This is confusing and absolutely unfair.”
’72 Hurain’ is all set to hit the theaters on 7th July.
