Two jailer films are releasing on 10th August. Yes, Rajinikanth’s much-awaited Tamil film Jailer and Dhyan Sreenivasan’s Malayalam film Jailer. Both the films, which are in dispute due to the title, will clash at the box office on the same release date.
The makers of Malayalam film Jailer recently announced that the film will also release on August 10. The Malayalam film will reportedly be dubbed in other languages and will be released on the same lines as Rajinikanth’s Jailer. The move follows a legal battle between the two films over the title.

Recently, Jailer faced a controversy with Sakkir Madathil, the director of the Malayalam film Jailer. He came forward and claimed that he had registered the title Jailor with the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) in 2021, much before the Tamil film’s title was announced. The director also revealed that he requested the production house Sun Pictures to change the title of the film and release it in Malayalam so that none of them would be affected. However, it is said that the production house declined the request and intends to release the Rajinikanth starrer with the title Jailor.
He has also gone to the Madras High Court regarding this matter. In response to this, Sakkir has filed a reply in the court, which is to be heard on August 2.
