Vin DieselAnd Jason Statham is back to entertain the audience with the new film titled Fast & Furious fast x, pair is joined by jason momoa as the antagonist and the film is creating a good buzz in India. The film has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification with an approved run time of 2 hours and 21 minutes (141 minutes).
Fast X will be released in 2200 cinemas
Fast X is set for a wide release in around 2200 cinemas across the country – basically, all the halls supporting the 2K format, will screen Fast X on their properties. The estimated number of screens is expected to be 2,500 in India. Advances for Fast X began a month ago in India, though the film only started gaining momentum on week one. With 2 days left for its release, advance booking at national multiplex chains is good, though it could have been better.
As of 10 am on Tuesday, FastX has sold around 38,500 tickets across three national chains – PVR, INOX and Cinepolis – for the first day. PVR leads with 19,000 tickets, followed by INOX at 10,200 and Cinepolis at 9,300. The weekend progress was good as Fast X sold around 1,08,000 tickets for the four-day extended weekend across the three series.
Fast X aims for double digit opening in India
The bookings across the three series are almost 40 percent better than the previous Hollywood release, Guardians of the Galaxy 3. The Marvel superhero film took an opening of Rs 7.00 crore in India and has grown by 40 per cent if the trend remains the same throughout its opening. Next day, Fast X will target a start around Rs 9.00 to 10.50 cr. The actioner has a mass belt-wide reach thanks to its extraordinary action and a universal family spirit, which gives it a chance to delve into interiors that the Marvel Universe doesn’t currently have. If massive audiences flock to Fast X, the film could push itself towards a Rs 11 crore opening.
The film is releasing on a Thursday compared to a Friday release, which means nightly showings may not be as strong as they would be for a traditional release. A Friday release would have ensured a huge opening for Fast X, as Hollywood movies do better in night shows. Fast X will aim to hit a half-century in the opening weekend and will hope to score a century in the long run, proving to be a hit venture at the Indian box office. The last part of Fast and Furious was a disappointment in India, mainly due to the delay in release amid the Covid lockdown. The new installment is expected to bring loyal franchise audiences back to the cinema halls, all the more so as the makers have confirmed plans for Fast X to conclude in a trilogy format.
Stay tuned with Pinkvilla for more updates on Fast X.
