Fans criticize IPL broadcasters after female anchors make them feel uncomfortable during ‘Hot or Not’ game

Women anchors in the Indian Premier League 2023 were uncomfortable playing a game called ‘Hot or Not’ during the pre-match show and this prompted fans to call out the broadcasters on social media platforms. The game was played ahead of tomorrow’s encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

There were four female anchors during the pre-match show, which was hosted by Suren Sundaram and featured Bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal. They all played a game called ‘Hot or Not’ which caused the fans to lash out at the broadcasters. Such games are being played during cricket shows and shirtless pictures of top cricketers like Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill are being shown on the screen, it does not look good. The female anchors were asked to swipe left or right on the photo of the cricketer based on his hotness.

Mayanti Langer, who is one of the most renowned presenters, played the game along with three other female anchors; However, they were a little uncomfortable. This didn’t go down well with the followers of the pre-match show and they lashed out at the broadcasters on social media as it didn’t leave a good taste.

Star clearly embarrassed himself with his ‘Hot or Not’ segment on today’s pre-match show.

Imagine asking a senior anchor and married woman like Mayanti Langer to do favors for a junior partner like Shubman Gill. She was clearly uncomfortable. #did not do#IPL2023

Star Sports has stooped to new lows in the broadcasting sector for only a few so-called views. Female anchors give hot or not rating to male players and male anchors should give hot or not rating to female players. But oh, there the feminists would flare up.

Talking about the match, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets and reached the fourth position in the points table. Virat Kohli scored a century while Faf du Plessis scored a half-century. Both the openers stitched a healthy opening partnership of over 160 runs and helped the franchise win the encounter.
