BJP MP Locket Chatterjee breaks down remembering cases of women being ‘roamed naked’ in Bengal – Watch

New Delhi: Amid national outrage over a May 4 video of two tribal women being attacked and stripped naked by a mob in Manipur, Bengal BJP MP Locket Chatterjee broke down on Friday recalling similar incidents during panchayat polls in the Mamata Banerjee-ruled state. The BJP MP, who was addressing a press conference, was seen breaking down while recalling several cases of heinous crime against women, including alleged stripping, during and after the West Bengal panchayat polls.

Tears welled up in the eyes of an emotional Chatterjee while talking about these incidents. “The Chief Minister of West Bengal is silent despite being a woman. You tell us where we will go. Hitting out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, she said when she is celebrating ‘Martyrs’ Day’, women in the state are being “stripped” and paraded.
