Recently, Janine Turner opened up about her engagement to her “first love,” Alec Baldwin. In conversation with Page Six, the ‘Northern Exposure’ star shared that she was just 20 when they met at an audition. Sharing her love at first sight, Janine said, “I was engaged to Alec Baldwin. He kept staring at me across the crowded room…he was my first love. We were engaged and then it was not heading in the right direction, so we decided to separate. However, Janine states that she is still friends with Alec who is now married to Hilaria Baldwin.

In 2014 ‘Oprah: Where Are They Now?’ Janine revealed that preparations for the wedding were underway when they called it quits. She said, “We had the dress, the invitations, the church, everything. And then we shut it down. Mutually closed it. I loved Alec so much, so it was devastating,” she confessed. “(But) we both just knew that it was wrong… It was not healthy. And I knew I didn’t want to live my life like this. Turner also revealed the reason behind moving back to New York and cutting her hair. She said, “I was seeing Alec getting all these great roles and I was just asked to show up in a bikini and do a 360 or get kidnapped. And me, I thought it was beneath my dignity. And If that was what was going to happen, I didn’t want to continue acting.

Janine, who took a step back from her career after embracing motherhood, said, “Motherhood happened to me and my focus became my daughter, and as a mother, because her father was not around, I chose not to, I I was all alone. I mean alone, not a bit like dad on the weekend. Completely alone, so I guess I thought I wanted to be home with my family.”
