The Escalade iQ joins Cadillac’s other EVs, including the ultra-luxury and limited Celestique and the more attainable Lyric SUV, which starts at $64,000. It’s part of GM’s plan to make the luxury brand an exclusively EV label by 2030.
GM’s Ultium platform is the basis for its current and upcoming electric vehicles, including the Chevy Equinox EV, Silverado, and even the GMC Hummer EV — and possibly this one as well. Many electric vehicles from several automakers are leaning towards larger SUVs in the US market as their demand rises. Kia’s EV9 is the much-anticipated three-row SUV to enter the segment, though the Escalade will be priced higher.
The last Escalade the company released was its biggest and longest ever, but we’ll have to wait and see what the new iQoo will look like. The current gas-powered Escalade starts at over $80,000, but considering GM’s giant Forgiveness The EV starts at $111,000, so we’d expect the Escalade IQ to be more expensive.
