Digital Health Unplugged: Guiding the CNIO to Success

Jordan Soloff is joined by Helen Balsdon, Interim Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) at NHS England, to discuss the hugely successful CNIO mentoring programme.

Balsden explained the reasons behind starting the program before talking about the mentoring process, how the mentor-teacher relationship was established, how the monthly group meetings were structured and specific areas of development were targeted .

She then discusses the key results and learnings from the feedback received before considering how the program might develop and expand in the future.

Finally, the NHSE Interim CNIO shares the success stories that have come from the program and how it has positively impacted the career trajectories of some trainees.
