Since last summer, a sleek filtration “tower” has been meticulously purifying the air in the “Pretty Nursery,” one of Delhi’s grandest parks, where visitors usually gather for picnics and to relax.
This tower is known as “Verto,” is 5.5 m (18 ft) tall and filters 600,000 cubic meters of air per day to lower levels of nitrogen dioxide and dangerous fine particles.
Studio Symbiosis designed this tower with a “monument”-like appearance. According to these fan-powered towers a CNN reports, Can purify the air up to 500 meters away. VERTO employed aerodynamic design concepts to provide a form with maximum surface area and improved air movement for reliable and effective performance.
“To meet this ideal design, simulation tests were performed to ensure the least resistance and highest surface area. As a starting point, an elliptical geometry was created to provide the least resistance.” the team said.
The air purification tower also has a control system that allows the filter column to be changed in response to demand and the quality of the outside air. While this is happening, external sensors collect and analyze air and meteorological data in the cloud.

Vehicle emissions, crop burning, and coal-fired power plants are responsible for the city’s deteriorating air quality, which often shrouds New Delhi in smog.
According to a study published in the medical journal The Lancet, air pollution is believed to have contributed to around 1.6 million deaths in India in just one year.
