Afghanistan cricket team is gearing up for the upcoming ODI World Cup later this year and they are all set to face Sri Lanka in a 3-match ODI series next month to prepare for the premier tournament. Hashmatullah Shahidi will lead the Afghanistan cricket team and the selectors have named a 15-man squad along with four reserve players for the upcoming bilateral series against Sri Lanka. Interestingly, fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has been dropped from the Afghanistan ODI squad and social media could not calm down after this news came to the fore.
The 3-match ODI series will be held in Hambantota starting from 2nd June. Young all-rounder Abdul Rehman has been included in the squad after a stellar performance in Afghanistan’s domestic one-day cup competition. Shaheedullah Kamal, Yameen Ahmadzai, Zia ur Rehman Akbar and Gulbadin Naib are the named reserves for the series. What happened between Kohli and Naveen?
During the match Naveen and Kohli had an exchange of heated words between the LSG pacer and Mohammad Siraj. Later, Naveen refused to shake hands with Kohli, infuriating the former RCB skipper. Gautam Gambhir, seeing Kohli still approaching Naveen, decided to intervene to calm himself.
